Day 4: Marble Canyon to Jacob Lake, AZ

Day 4
was tough! We climbed from 3,500 feet at Marble Canyon to 7,950 feet at Jacob Lake. It took us 4:45 to cover 41.1 miles. It was grueling. "The Climb" seemed like it would never quit so you can imagine how ecstatic we were to finally see the Jacob Lake sign. We met some really nice folks at a scenic overlook spot. They were amazed we were going up.

When we entered the Lodge to eat lunch, Jerry was on his way out to start down the hill. We had a good meal and then decided to stay the night there. That means we have to make up some ground tomorrow. Tomorrow's ride will take us into Utah. A highlight will be Zion National Park. Oh, I almost forgot to mention Joe. As we worked our way through Marble Canyon we came upon Joe. He was walking. He had a backpack. I asked him where he was headed. He replied, "nowhere in particular." He was just walking. He asked for water and something to eat so we shared some water and a trailmix (thanks FCC -Lake Butler) bar with him. We let him know it was a blessing from the Lord.

Please keep Joe and Jerry and all those others who are just drifting around the country on foot or on bike and drifting through life. Pray that you can bless a drifter today.

As always, prayers appreciated.
