Day 2: Grand Canyon to Cameron, AZ

Day 2 started out chilly and overcast. We were a bit concerned about rain so we prayed for the rain to stay away. The first half of our ride from the Maswik Lodge (Grand Canyon) along the south rim to Desert View was challenging.

We only averaged 10.8, but we did see two elk feeding by the road. Lunch at Desert View was great! The Watchtower is always a great place to visit and see the Canyon. It never did warm up so the ride down to Cameron was chilly. Because of the downgrade and slight tailwind our average speed ended up at 13.5. Mileage for the day was 60. Dinner at the Trading Post Motel restaurant was great.

After dinner we went into the small grocery to buy some fruit. There we met Elvira who was in a car accident on Sunday with three friends. Elvira fractured her hand and the others had various minor injuries. I told her we would be praying for a speedy recovery. She asked if we would pray for her friends as well. I said of course. She wrote down all their names so we could pray along the way. We will do that tomorrow as we ride from Cameron to Marble Canyon, AZ.

The eyes are tired so it is time for bed. As always, prayers appreciated!
