Today is Resurrection Sunday, a day for the followers of Jesus to reflect and celebrate the new life they received in this life when they decided to follow the life, example and teachings of Jesus.
As followers of Jesus we are happy for this new life in the midst of this life because it has been a challenge to navigate the Coronavirus road. Much like any long of the long multi-day rides I have taken.
With that said, in the midst of the virus GTD '20 training and preparation has continued but the start day is being pushed back and the Route has changed.
I will keep my finger on the pulse of the virus situation and not start my ride till it is safe for all I desire to see along the way.
The Route now take me from Gainesville south through the center of the state to Okeechobee. After Okeechobee I will ride northwest and travel up the Gulf side back to Gainesville. This will be Days 1-8.
After of few days of taking care of things at home I will resume my ride heading toward Jacksonville. Once there I will connect with Highway 90 west and ride to Lynn Haven, FL passing through Bristol. After Lynn Haven I will begin my journey home along the Gulf Coast. This will be Days 9-16.
I am excited about this new Route because I will be able to visit with so many friends, family members, UFCCH Gonths and UFCCH Partners.
It will be a much warmer ride than St. Paul to Detroit but I have already started to prepare. I have purchased 2 additional Yeti Ramblers so that I will have cold, cold drink for many hours. I will also use my Camelbak Mule to carry essentials on my back along with 100 ounces of my favorite iced beverage, TANG!
In addition to all of the above, I will be training in the heat on my GTD Bike as well as my Tri Bike.
After all the uncertainty regarding my ride I am happy now to have a clear vision of where GTD '20 will take me. I am also excited about the possibility of who I will see along the way. Once I have a specific Start Date I will post the exact Route with the Segment Dates. It would be awesome to have some company along the way as I ride. After seeing the Route and Segment Dates let me know where you would like to join me and for how long you would like to ride.
More to come! Until then, love God and live Adventurously! bob
